Collaborating Centers
In July 2014, the Nursing School of Coimbra was designated a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Nursing Practice and Research.
In line with its terms of reference, its mission is:
- 1. To support WHO to promote models of good practice in nursing and midwifery education and training in PHC in Member States.
- 2. On request of WHO, to provide technical assistance on scaling up organizational and regional knowledge of the roles of nurses and midwives in support of the European Programme of Work.
- 3. To support WHO in coordinating the work of the WHO Collaborating Centres’ Network for Nursing and Midwifery to share experiences and contribute to the promotion of good practices in nursing and midwifery.
